Star Wars 'Invades' Changi Airport!

By Flora  /  13 Nov 2015 (Friday)
The Force is strong at Changi Airport.

Stormtroopers, a life-size X-Wing Fighter and the TIE Fighter are some of the exciting Star Wars-themed events happening at international airport. In addition, we take a peek inside the R2-D2 ANA aircraft that has been decorated with Star Wars livery.

It's not everyday that you see thousands of people gathering at a corner of the airport, with continuous camera flashes, and screaming fans who can't seem to contain their joy. No, it's not a Kpop or Hollywood star that arrived in Singapore. It's the stormtroopers and X-Wing Fighter pilots who arrived at Changi Airport for the launch of the Star Wars events!

They mingled with the crowd, posed photos with eager fans, and marched in an orderly fashion to the next terminal, terminal 2, where the TIE Fighter stands.

One of the main highlights would be the All Nippon Airways R2-D2 jet that was specially chartered to Singapore. It is the first commercial aircraft in the world to be decorated with a Star Wars livery and will make a brief two-night stop here.

The napkins and paper cups are decorated with the R2-D2 prints, along with the headrest covers.
