During day one of the 2-day concert held at The Meadow at Gardens By the Bay, international stars joined forces and put up a spectacular performance one would never forget.
First up to open the show was international fushion group, Blush, comprising of five members from the Philippines, India, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea. Though it was evident that the crowd were waiting for the other acts, Blush managed to hype up the audiences with their fiery moves and music.
Next up was Canadian pop princess, Carly Rae Jepsen. The crowd went wild at the mention of her name, singing along with the singer to her hit song ‘Call Me Maybe’. Many also whipped out their phones as a ‘lightsource’ and waved their phones in the air to the tunes of “Your Heart is a Muscle”.
As the cute girl-next-door lad brought the crowd to an all-time high, they were all pumped up for the next act, the Korean superstar who took the world by storm with his hit song ‘Gangnam Style’, Psy!
He needed no introduction for this hit song is after all, the video with most views on YouTube, beating pop sensation Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’.
Psy greeted the crowd and jokes that it looked like a press conference and said ‘take a lot of pictures, you can use me in any way’. He definitely brought the crowd jumping on their feet, head-banging to the heavy beats on the music.
Though many started to disperse right after Psy’s performance, those who stayed managed to enjoy yet another stunning performance by CeeLo Green, who showcased a number of songs, of the likes to many.
Day two of the Singapore Social Concert was left for Aerosmith to close the energy-pumping show which saw a crowd of more than 10,000 people.
Before the band took the stage, UK band Euphoria Audio played a number of rock ballads as they entertained the crowd before Aerosmith emerged and brought the house down like the true kings of rock.
Lead vocalist Steven Tyler strut the stage with his mic stand, decked in shawls of a variety of colours, a sun hat and a red-rimmed shades to match his outfit. It didn’t matter what he wore for everyone was quite ready for the band to start. They began the night with ‘Music from another Dimension’ and performed a number of their hit songs like ‘Crying’, ‘Dream On’ and ‘Jaded’.
Of course, everyone was expecting ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’, where Tyler urged the crowd to sing along with him. They were even joined by beatboxer Hikakin and dubstep, popper Marquese Scott who had a short solo in the middle of their song.
