Lead Actors Takeshi Kaneshiro, Donnie Yen, Tang Wei & Jimmy Wang will be gracing the Event!
WU XIA
, the latest action blockbuster directed and produced by Peter Ho-Sun Chan, is
holding its World Premiere on May 13 during the upcoming 64th Cannes Film Festival! Its
star-studded cast including Donnie Yen, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Tang Wei, Jimmy Wang and
Kara Hui will grace the event in Cannes.
Takeshi Kaneshiro will be the first to arrive in Cannes on May 12; followed by Tang Wei,
Donnie Yen and his wife on May 13. They will be there for five days to promote WU XIA.
The World Premiere of
WU XIA
at Cannes is a big milestone for Peter Chan, “Cannes is a
stepping stone for Chinese martial arts to reach out to the rest of the world. WU XIA is my
first martial arts film. Starting from Cannes, I hope to bring this brand new martial arts
genre to an international platform.”
With only three days away from the World Premiere, Director Peter Chan is still working on
the post production in Thailand. In order to deliver the print to France in time, the
production company is spending RMB$1.8 million to book a plane for the delivery. Says
Peter Chan, “To save time on transit and custom, we hire a plane to ensure that the print
will reach Cannes on May 13.”
