Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne is already creating some Oscar buzz with his performance in 'The Danish Girl' where he plays a transgender woman.
The film is based on the 2000 novel by David Ebershoff, with Lucinda Coxon writing the screenplay and Tom Hooper (The King's Speech, Les Miserables) directing the movie.
The first trailer offers a longer look at the highly anticipated film about artist Lili Elbe, the first person to undergo a sex-change operation. The movie, apart from his journey transiting to a woman, focuses on him and his wife's love story. Alicia Vikander plays the supporting wife who accepts who her husband really is.
It's pretty clear that Redmayne and the creative time will most probably be a strong contender at the next Oscar season!
The Danish Girl is slated to open InCinemas 7 Jan 2016!
