StarHub to Launch DreamWorks Channel from March 2016!

By Flora  /  29 Feb 2016 (Monday)

The new DreamWorks Channel will feature original DreamWorks TV animation series and a daily morning preschool block, DreamWorks Junior, from 3 March 2016.

Singapore os the third country in Asia to debut the channel after Thailand and Malaysia in 2015. The 24-hour channel will be in high definition, with English and Mandarin language options. Its initial line-up will include DreamWorks Animation’s (DWA) signature series Dragons: Race to the Edge, from the critically acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon franchise, and Dinotrux, DWA’s first original series that welcomes viewers to a world of giant creatures that are half dinosaur, half construction vehicle.

The channel will also present a daily morning preschool block, DreamWorks Junior, featuring favourites as Raa Raa The Noisy Lion, Postman Pat and Guess with Jess.

“The channel has been very well-received! We are very patient because we only want the best affiliates on the planet, said Eric Ellenbogen, Co-Head, International TV for DreamWorks Animation. “Through StarHub, we are able to deliver the content all together in one amazing place across a variety of platforms because we know that the viewing patterns of audiences are changing.”

Additional series that will launch on the new channel include All Hail King Julien, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Dawn of the Croods, The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, as well as special shorts Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five and Secrets of the Masters to celebrate the release of Kung Fu Panda 3, DWA’s newest chapter in the successful Kung Fu Panda franchise which will be opening in Singapore on 10 March.

Fans of the Studio’s animations, you’ll be happy to know that there are 14 new series to be rolled out in the months to come. “We have a team of over 300 people that are developing new content. Many of those will be based on the franchises of the theatrical motion pictures that DreamWorks has produced in the past,” said John Engelman, Co-Head, International TV for DreamWorks Animation.

A free preview of the DreamWorks Channel will be available for all StarHub TV customers from 3rd to 20 March, 12 noon, after which, the channel and on-demand service will be available for subscription under StarHub TV’s Supreme Box Office Pack ($28.90 per month w/GST) and the DreamWorks Pack ($8.56 per month w/GST). Existing Supreme Box Office Pack customers will get to enjoy both channels at no additional cost.

Both channels will also be accessible via the Go Premium pack ($9.95 per month w/GST) on StarHub Go, StarHub’s online streaming service delivered on demand and on any device, enabling customers to access their favourite programs anytime.
