ICYMI: Oscars 2016 Highlights

George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road may have gotten the most most awards of the night with six Oscars, but it was Spotlight, the film about a team of reporters investigating the allegations of priest abuse, that took home the Best Picture. 

The Revenant director Alejandro G. Iñárritu made history with his second consecutive wins in directing. He is the third director to win back-to-back in directing, after John Ford and Joseph L. Mankiewicz. Leonardo DiCaprio finally gotten his Oscar and he gave an exceptional speech on climate change too. Watch his acceptance speech and check out some other highlights in the award show after the jump.




Sam Smith dedicates the Oscar for Best Original Song, with Writing's On The Wall (from Spectre), to the LGBT community. He said. "I stand here tonight as a proud gay man, and I hope we can all stand together as equals one day." His acceptance speech here:



Star Wars takeover, featuring BB-8, R2-D2 and C-3PO, and we are all behaving like Jacob Tremblay.




Brie Larson, acting alongside Jacob in Room, took home the Best Actress in leading role. In other news, Woody and Buzz from Toy Story and Minions made appearance to present the animation category.
