Local filmmaker Kelvin Tong is back after a 5-year hiatus with the first-ever Singapore-Hollywood horror production, The Faith of Anna Waters! This marks Tong’s 9th feature as a director after his successful hits including ‘It’s A Great Great World’ ‘The Maid’ and ‘Rule #1’. Tenacious journalist Jamie Waters travels from Seattle to Singapore to investigate the mysterious suicide of her older sister Anna. Inexplicable events at Anna’s new house and the odd behavior of her daughter Katie lead Jamie to a string of bizarre suicides involving strange allusions to the Tower of Babel. The supernatural forces arrayed against Jamie intensify when she receives emails from the dead Anna. With the help of her sister’s former husband Sam, Jamie races to solve the mystery of Anna’s death as demonic forces attack Katie and evidence mounts of the Tower of Babel rising once again – in the form of the Internet.

The Angry Birds Movie

Based on the popular phone app game Angry Birds, the 3D computer-animated action-adventure comedy film, The Angry Birds Movie, explores the question we’ve always been dying to know: ‘Why are these birds so angry’? From the writer of ‘The Simpsons’ the adventure comedy is directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly, and voiced by Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Sean Penn, Bill Hader, and Peter Dinklage.

In the animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we'll finally find out why the birds are so angry. The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We're the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

Young and Fabulous is directed by Michael Woo, and stars Aloysius Pang, Joshua Tan, Gurmit Singh and Joyce Chu.

Young & Fabulous is a coming-of-age story of a group of teenage friends—Royston, Violet, and Hao Ren—who overcome all challenges and obstacles to fulfil their dreams. On their journey of self-discovery, they also learn the meaning of friendship, the different perspectives in parent-child and teacher-student relationships, and ultimately the need to have the courage to stand up for what they believe in.

In this competitive era with an education system that focuses on academic excellence, how will the younger generation find courage and confidence and hold on to their dreams and hopes in a society that values practicality over creativity?
