What to Expect at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2016!

The annual Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) returns with new toy collections, exclusive launches and a bigger lineup of guests. It’s a weekend of jam-packed events for the pop culture fans to immerse themselves in the realm of comics, manga, anime, toys and collectibles.

There are lots to see, do and buy at the 2-day mega event - from autograph sessions to stage performances, meeting pop culture creators and snagging limited edition toys - fans can expect a diverse east and west offerings!

Here are some of the highlights to look out for:

eSports PC Tournament

STGCC introduces its first ever PC gaming tournament at the event. Battle it out on the FPS game Overwatch.The top two teams will walk away with a total prize pool of $2500 cash and other prizes.

Meet Superstar Writers/Creators/Artists

Always wanted to meet your favourite comic book artists, writers and toy creators in the flesh? Fan idols like Nick Spencer (comic book writer for Marvel & DC); Brooke Allen (co-creator of ‘Lumberjanes’); Tom Taylor (comic book author and artist for Marvel & DC); Jon-Pail Kaiser (toy creator); Simone Legno (creative director of Tokidoki); Vofan (Japanese illustrator); Jacob Chabot (Marvel Tsum Tsum writer); Stephanie Hans (Marvel illustrator), and many more.

Party in Akiba Style

STGCC will be featuring the first ever ‘Akiba Pop Stage’, where celebrated Japanese idols such as ‘GuildStars from Akiba Guild’, ‘Road of Alice’, ‘Nomico’ and ‘Rie Yunohara.

Witness the unveiling of an Exclusive Mystery BE@RBRICK 100%

ActionCity will be unveiling an exclusive mystery addition to the BE@RBRICK 100% at STGCC, with the prototype making its debut to visitors for the first time. Limited quantitiles will be available for advance pre-oder onsite.

Bid for Charity

Fans will be able to bid for the #TeamCapFest Sketch Wall that was completed by the Band of Doodlers during the Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Festival held in April 2016. The wall mural is made up of four canvas panels and each panel will be auctioned off individually. The starting bid for each panel is SGD 250 and each panel will be awarded to its respective highest bidder via an online silent auction.

Online bidding shall commence on Tuesday, 30 August 2016, 0900hrs, and close on Sunday, 11 Sep 2016, 1500hrs. Proceeds raised from the sale of the panels will go towards granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
