The 2017 Oscar nominations for the 89th annual Academy Awards are finally in.
With no surprise at all, the musical nostalgia film ‘La La Land’ leads with 14 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and acting awards for the two main leads.
It earned a record number of nominations in a single film, tying with 1997’s Titanic and 1950’s ‘All About Eve’.
The picture now has a chance to beat the record 11 Oscars that have been won by Ben-Hur, Titanic and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
Sci-fi film Arrival and coming-of-age drama Moonlight ties in second, with eight nominations each, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Cinematography.
