Be inspired by Ocean Explorer Erika Bergman at the Maritime Experiential Museum on 26 & 27 May
On 26 and 27 May, the revamped Maritime Experiential Museum will play host to submarine pilot and National Geographic explorer Erika Bergman who will share stories about her expeditions, the future of exploration and her contribution towards marine conservation. The two-day event will be held at 11:30 am and 3:00 pm on 26 May and 27 May and is complimentary for Maritime Experiential Museum admission ticket holders.
Learn more about the Maritime Silk Route by attending free daily guided tours at the museum where you can get hands-on experience tying classic mariners' knots, or even enjoy a multi-sensory experience at Typhoon Theatre simulating a sinking ship in a treacherous storm.
Bring your kids along and join the National Geographic Ocean Exploration Children's Workshop to learn what it takes to become a great explorer, and understand the most important global factors for ocean conversation. The full-day program is Singapore's first and only marine science and marine exploration children's workshop. This includes interactive activities at both S.E.A. Aquarium and the Maritime Experiential Museum as well as an exclusive back-of-house tour at the aquarium's Open Ocean Habitat. Celebrate Ocean Fest! with S.E.A Aquarium from 25 May to 24 June
Celebrate World Oceans Day from 25 May to 24 June with S.E.A. Aquarium's Ocean Fest!. Raise awareness for ocean conservation through the month-long festival with marketplace filled with ocean-friendly products, immersive art installations, underwater performances, upcycling workshops, education challenges and more! Explore the aquariums first-ever ocean eco-market filled with more than 10 eco-friendly booths, from a great collection of well-designed and reusable home products such as upcycled LED lamps, to organic beauty products free from microplastics that harm the ocean. Organized in partnership with Terra SG - a social enterprise that advocates individuals to make a positive environmental change - S.E.A. Aquarium's eco-market not only highlights marine plastic pollution, it encourages individuals to pick up ocean-friendly, blue habits to sustain our environment.
The thought-provoking art installation, titled "Life in Plastic", brings you into the shoes of animals entangled in marine debris. Made using plastic bottles, fishing nets, and other marine litter, the immersive installation highlights the horrors of plastic pollution, set against the stark contrast of the pristine aquatic environment in the aquarium. Yong, curious minds can assume the roles of crime scene investigators at the Ocean Lab as they uncover what harms marine life, from the plastic trash found in the stomachs of animals to tiny microbeads. This interactive zones will encourage children to review evidence and identify culprits to solve the cases of animal victims such as the shark, and albatross, empowering them to take simple actions such as rejecting the use of plastic straws.
Experience "Harmony's Message" a brand new underwater show at S.E.A. Aquarium's Ocean Fest! where you will learn how to keep the oceans and marine life healthy.
