An 'American Pie 5' may be happening

Is the sex comedy, American Pie returning for its fifth instalment?
Tara Reid, the actress who played Vicky Lathum in the American Pie film series believes that an American Pie 5 will happen later this year.
There haven’t been any official announcements from the studios about a sequel or remake, but she told CinePop during her promotions of Sharknado 6, said that she met up with the directors Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg recently and they have full intentions to make the fifth movie happen.
I met the directors [Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg] recently at the Emmy party and I said, 'Let's do the fifth movie, the franchise needs another movie.' They replied: 'It will happen! We're going to make another! ' It will be incredible to come back. American Pie is American Pie. Movies were a part of American culture, it's a classic. It is known all over the world. I'm very excited. It's going to be a great year for me, with Sharknado's debut and the possibility of filming yet another American Pie in 2018.
American Pie first appeared in 1999, and the coming-of-age adult comedy became a hit with audiences. It earned over $235M globally with successful remakes through the years.
With Stifler and his gang return to the big screen soon? We certainly hope so.
