'City of Last Things', directed by Taiwan-based Malaysian-born director Ho Wi Ding, will be the Opening Film of this year's Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF).

'City of Last Things' premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won the Toronto Platform Prize.

The film has also been nominated for four awards at the 55th Golden Horse Awards, including Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Performer, and Best Original Screenplay.

Shot on expired 35mm film stock, the film tells the story of three extraordinary nights in the life of an ordinary man—each involving a different woman, each changing his existence for good.

The film stars Hou Hsiao Hsien regular actor Jack Kao, Golden Horse winner Lee Hong-Chi ('Thanatos, Drunk'), French actress Louise Grinberg ('The Class'), and Huang Lu ('Blind Massage', 'A Yellow Bird').

The SGIFF will run from 28 November to 9 December 2018.

The full festival line-up and ticketing details will be announced end October 2018.
