If Marks agree to helm the movie, she will be one of the youngest female studio directors in history. Marks has appeared in TV shows such as The Amazing Spider-Man, MTV’s Awkward, Showtime’s Weeds and 2010’s The Runaways.
She will direct from a screenplay by Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker. Temple Hill’s Isaac Klausner and Marty Bowen are producing with Green and Rosianna Halse Rojas serving as executive producers on the project.
Her indie directorial debut, ‘After Everything’ which she also penned, earned rave reviews at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival, where she was nominated for the Game Changer award.
‘Turtles All The Way Down’ was published in 2017, the first published work of YA author John Green since his 2012 novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, which became a hit on the big screen as well. The film starred Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley as Gus Waters and Hazel Grace Lancaster.
The story follows a 16-year-old a girl with OCD, who discovers through her friend that a billionaire construction magnate has gone missing in the wake of fraud investigations. Tempted by the reward of $100,000 for information leading to the billionaire’s arrest, the two begin a search for the missing billionaire.
