By InCinemas / 07 Mar 2019 (Thursday)
Disney has released a teaser poster for its upcoming follow-up film to 2014's Maleficent! The sequel, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, is also slated for release months earlier than its original May 2020 release. Fans can now look forward to catching it in cinemas October 2019!
The film directed by Joachim Rønning and written by Linda Woolverton, will see the return of Angelina Jolie in the titular role alongside Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville who played Aurora, Diaval and the three pixies respectively. Harris Dickinson will replace Brenton Thwaites as Prince Phillip.
Joining the cast as new characters in the film are Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The sequel is described as "a fantasy adventure that picks up years after Maleficent and continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon-to-be queen, as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within."
There is no official release date for the film in Singapore yet but we bet it won't be long before we do. Stay tuned!
