Disney has released the new trailer for its live-action adaption of 'Aladdin'.
Directed by Guy Ritchie ('Sherlock Holmes') and starring Will Smith as the Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, 'Aladdin' tells the rags-to-rises story of the street urchin Aladdin who falls in love with Princess Jasmine and has to face off with the formidable Jafar.
When the 'Aladdin' teaser was released several months ago, it generated a storm of controversy. Many were aghast at how blue Will Smith's Genie was.
The new trailer hopefully will put that controversy to rest, because as it turns out, the Genie will not always appear in his blue Genie form. To blend in with humans, he will disguise himself in human form.
But what's more exciting is getting a taste of how the movie will pull off the iconic songs of our childhood.
In the trailer, we briefly see Princess Jasmine belting a wonderful rendition of 'A Whole New World'.
And as befitting a Guy Ritchie movie, it appears that there will be loads of fantastic action sequences in the movie.
We can't wait!
'Aladdin' will fly into cinemas on 23 May 2019.
