Amanda Seyfried will play Daphne while Zac Efron will play her goofy boyfriend, Fred in the upcoming Warner Bros animation “Scoob”. They will join other names that include Will Forte who will play Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez as Velma, and Tracy Morgan who will play Captain Caveman.

Frank Welker, who was the original voice of Scooby-Doo in the late 1960s, will reprise his role again as the lovable but coward detective pup. Tony Cervone will direct the feature with Chris Columbus, Pam Coats and Allison Abbate producing it.

Seyfried recently starred in the Mamma Mia! sequel and can be seen next in Simon Curtis’ The Art of Racing in the Rain alongside Kevin Costner and Milo Ventimiglia. Efron has won praise for his portrayal of killer Ted Bunny in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, which will be streamed on Netflix later this year.

Scoob is slated to open InCinemas May 2020.
