Netflix's Korean romance drama series Love Alarm to launch on Aug 22

By Say Peng  /  13 Aug 2019 (Tuesday)

We don't need data analytics to know that the world loves Korean romance dramas and, giving the world what it wants, Netflix will be soon launching its own romantic drama series Love Alarm.

Based on a popular Korean webtoon of the same title by Chon Kye-young, Love Alarm is an app that notifies the user when someone within a 10-metre radius is attracted to him or her.

The series centres on a love triangle between high school student Kim Jo-Jo (Kim So-Hyun) and two guys who are in love with her, Lee Hye-Young (Jung Ga-Ram) and Hwang Sun-O (Song Kang).

Love Alarm rings for Jojo and Sun-oh, confirming that they like each other. Hye-young has yet to install the app and tries to keep his feelings for Jojo to himself, but eventually she finds out about it.

Jojo has to choose.

Love Alarm will be available to watch on Netflix from 22 August: https://www.netflix.com/sg/title/80168068
