Festival de Cannes Film Week wraps its inaugural film week

The first Festival de Cannes Film Week in Asia made its long-awaited debut at cultural destination K11 MUSEA in Hong Kong with its opening night on November 12th.

Led by Adrian Cheng, founder of K11 Group and Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of Festival de Cannes, the official opening ceremony launched this iconic week for cinema culture in Hong Kong and across Asia.

The event saw Hong Kong’s film industry elite such as director Wong Kar Wai, filmmaker Ann Hui, director Johnnie To, director Yonfan, director Teddy Robin, director Flora Lau, producer Yvette Tang and cinematographer Christopher Doyle were joined by internationally renowned directors Jean Pierre & Luc Dardenne (Young Ahmed), actor Vincent Lacoste of On a Magical Night (Chambre 212) and director Michael Angelo Covino (The Climb) - bringing the spirit of the world’s most prestigious film festival to Hong Kong.

The weeklong festival featured film screenings, presentations and masterclasses with legendary filmmakers Jean-Pierre & Luc Dardenne and Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Festival de Cannes. Held at the K11 Art House from 12-17 November 2019, the inaugural Festival de Cannes Film Week also screened six highly acclaimed films from the Official Selection 2019 of Festival de Cannes.
