Watch the ‘Birds of Prey’ stunt that knocked out the cameraman

‘Birds of Prey’, or also known as "Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" may not fare as expected at the box office, but there is no doubt that the stunts in the colourful and explosive world are not to be missed. So crazy that the Director of Photography (DOP), Matty Libatique who was the cameraman on a particular fight scene was knocked out by Mary Elizabeth Winstead who played Huntress.
Director Cathy Yan revealed on Twitter that the head-on collision happened during the funhouse fight between the Birds of Prey and Black Mask’s henchmen. Huntress tackles and rides on top of one of the henchmen (who is a stuntman) while sliding down a slide like a sled. Yan said that “Winstead and the stuntman she was riding on the slide into the camera, that wasn’t a clever bit of editing. It turns out that Libatique “got destroyed by [Winstead] and the 200-pound stuntman. That shot going to black was the collision.”
Winstead wasn’t the only one who did her own stunts. Lead actress Margot Robbie who plays the titular character, Harley Quinn also did her own stunts for the movie, such as the ultimate funhouse carousel fight, as well as following a moving car with skates.
Birds of Prey also stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain and Ali Wong.
