Singer-songwriter Harry Styles will be making his silver screen return, 3 years after appearing in Christopher Nolan's war epic Dunkirk.
Styles has joined the cast of Olivia Wilde's next directorial effort, Don't Worry, Darling, that boasts a cast that includes Florence Pugh, Chris Pine and Dakota Johnson. He will be replacing Shia LaBeouf who was until recently attached to star in the project.
Little is known about the movie’s plot but it is said that Don’t Worry, Darling is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert and centers on a housewife who uncovers a disturbing truth about her seemingly perfect life. Styles and Pugh will be playing married couple Jack and Alice, as revealed by Wilde on Twitter. The screenplay is written by Katie Silberman based on a spec script by Shane and Carey Van Dyke.
Pugh has slowly but surely proven to be one of her generation's best with her powerful performances in Midsommar and Greta Gerwig's Little Women. She is set to make her MCU debut in Marvel Studios' Black Widow that is slated to open in cinemas October 29. Styles on the other hand is no stranger to fame ever since his boyband One Direction broke out of the X Factor and took the world by storm. Ever since the band went on hiatus, he has seen success in 2 solo albums, a self-titled album released in 2017 and Fine Line (2019).
