Release dates of Marvel Studios' Black Widow and more get delayed again

By Rachelle  /  24 Sep 2020 (Thursday)

Bad news, Marvel fans. Marvel Studios' Black Widow has been postponed once again.

Black Widow starring Scarlett Johansson, was set to debut in the U.S. cinemas on November 6, a date that started to look increasingly unlikely as movie theaters remained closed in the country. Following the disappointing performances of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet in the U.S. and the delay of Wonder Woman 1984, the film will now open in Singapore on April 29, 2021.

This move set off a cascade of release date shifts for the studio's following Marvel films in its slate. Marvel Studios' Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Marvel Studios' Eternals will now debut later into 2021 instead.

Eternals, a comic book adventure about a super-powered alien race directed by Chloé Zhao and starring Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan and Kumail Nanjiani, will instead debut on October 28, 2021 while Shang Chi, Marvel’s first film with an Asian lead, has moved from April 29, 2021 to July 8, 2021. Destin Daniel Cretton will direct a cast that includes Simu Liu as the titular martial arts hero.
Below is the upcoming slate for Marvel films:

Marvel Studios' Black Widow  - April 29, 2021
Marvel Studios' Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - Jul 8, 2021
Marvel Studios' Eternals - October 28, 2021
