No, this is not an April Fool's joke. Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans are set to star in their ninth film together!
The Avengers' co-stars will reunite on screen in Project Artemis, with Ozark's Jason Bateman tapped to direct. Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps at the moment but it is reportedly set against the space race.
The news was confirmed by Evans himself:
Johansson and Evans have been pivotal members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), playing Black Widow and Captain America respectively. They've appeared in six MCU films together – The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). But before they were recruited as superheroes, the pair have shared the screen for 2004's The Perfect Score and 2009's The Nanny Diaries.
Bateman on the other hand has been in the industry for many years, having his start as a child actor. He is best known for his work in the hit tv series Arrested Development (2003-2006, 2018-2019) and for starring in films such as Horrible Bosses (2011), Zootopia (2016), Game Night (2018), and more. He has won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Netflix's crime drama Ozark, which he also stars and executive produces.
