And just like that, awards season has come to a close.
Hosted by Conan O'Brien and a very fitting Nick Offerman playing announcer, the celebratorious 97th Academy Awards was nothing short of Hollywood glam, jokes, unsubtle jabs, surprise wins, and wondrous musical performances (that weren't of the Original Song nominees). A great celebration of film indeed!
The night saw Wicked's Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande blow the house down with a breathtaking medley of music from from The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz and Wicked, Anora's producer-writer-director-editor Sean Baker sweep all the awards he was nominated for (making him the first person to win four Academy Awards for the same film!), Adrien Brody winning his second Oscar (but more importantly reuniting with Halle Berry to recreate their infamous kiss), Mikey Madison disrespecting the balance by scoring the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role over Demi Moore... and more.
