Invited by organisers tvN, CJ Entertainment and Media as well as CUBE Entertainment of ongoing regional talent competition, tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S2, 4Minute’s appearance sought to inspire fans and aspiring K-Pop star hopefuls alike to fulfill their dreams of becoming the next K-Pop idol!

Although the event took place on a Tuesday evening, it did not deter the eager fans to turn up for the rare opportunity to see 4Minute up close and personal. Many fans were seen holding up specially designed banners and even LED placards with blinking lights, creatively designed to express their love for the five girls.

Emcee of the night, DJ Ken from Radio 100.3, kicked off the event by hyping up the atmosphere, getting the crowd to sing and dance to 4Minute’s groovy tunes like “Mirror Mirror”. One of two finalists for Singapore’s leg of tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S1, Jasmine Tan, also shared with aspiring K-Pop hopefuls, her experience when training under CUBE Entertainment in Seoul last year.

The event reached its peak when 4Minute strutted into the mall at around 8pm with thousands of supporters roaring with excitement, escalating the decibel levels. Clad in colourful and vibrant getups, 4Minute politely greeted the crowd before they sat down for a Question and Answer session, much to the delight of the excited crowd.

4Minute shared their thoughts about the Singapore contestants from Season 1, inviting recommendations from fans about trying Singapore’s cuisine such as laksa and durian.
When asked about valuable advice for aspiring K-Pop hopefuls, the girls stressed on perseverance, hard work and encouraged K-Pop hopefuls to take part in tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S2 where the winner of the talent competition will have the chance of a lifetime to be trained by CUBE Entertainment and become a K-Pop star just like 4Minute!

Said Ms Sineenart Maprangtong, student, aged 23, “I flew down to Singapore from Thailand just to meet 4Minute! I really aspire to become a successful K-Pop star just like 4Minute so I took part in tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S1 in Thailand last year and made it to the final auditions! I wasn’t selected in the end and honestly, it was a little disheartening, but after seeing 4Minute today, my passion to become a top-notch K-Pop performer is reignited again!”

Young, a 19-year-old Singapore student who had been camping out at Plaza Singapura since 7.30am, added “I am so happy to see 4Minute today! I want to be like them who can perform to fans world-wide.  Meeting them here in Singapore is so surreal to me and I might just try out for tvN K-Pop Star Hunt.”

Six enviable winners received a premium goodie bag consisting an autographed album as well as tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S2’s poster from the hands of 4Minute and they even took a photo with them.
