Synopsis
EZRA is the Malayalam directorial debut of notable Ad film maker Jay K who worked in many Bollywood movies as associate with directors like Ramgopal Varma , Rajkumar Santhoshi etc. He was also an associate to director Rajeev Ravi. EZRA is set in Fort Kochi and Sri Lanka which unfolds an ancient Jewish mythical culture in Kerala. According to the director, though the genre is horror thriller , the film is not made to frighten the spectators, but has a strong plot involving a love story. In Hebrew, Ezra means “cry for help,”. The film is majorly shot at Fort Kochi, which was once home to a thriving-Jewish community. However, now it only has a handful of Jews living in the area, who serve as the living testimony to their community’s long history in the God’s own country. EZRA boasts an all-star cast with youth superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the lead. Meanwhile, actor Priya Anand making her debut in Malayalam with EZRA.The movie also has talented actors like Tovino Thomas, Babu Antony, Prathap Pothen, Vijaya Raghavan, Sudev Nair etc The cinematography is handled by Sujith Vaassudev and editing by Vivek Harshan. While Rahul Raj has composed the music, Sushin Shyam has scored background.
