Synopsis
A hunt for buried ‘Treasure’ sends two men on an unforgettable ride. Romanian filmmaker Adrian Purcarescu plays an unemployed literary publisher who pays an impromptu visit to his downstairs neighbour, Costi (Cuzin Toma), to ask for a loan to prevent the banks from seizing his apartment. When Costi —a mid-level civil servant barely making ends meet — agrees, this delightful comic caper takes off. As the two men dig for treasure, they unearth more than they bargained for, excavating not only dirt, but traces of Romania’s often tumultuous history.
