Synopsis
Unda is inspired by a real life incident that occurred in 2014 during the Lok Sabha elections. A nine man police unit from Kerala is posted on election duty in the Maoist affected areas of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. Despite being in a dangerous zone they lack basic facilities and sufficient ammunition. A sub-Inspector in his forties (Manikandan CP, played by Mammootty) leads the unit in this mission. The rest of the movie deals with how they manage to successfully help to conduct trouble-free elections during the conflict.
