Synopsis
In the forgotten legend of Harry Odell, Hong Kong’s first impresario, a rediscovery of the city’s soul awaits. Odell was a Cairo-born, Shanghaibred Russian Jewish who stamped his mark on the cultural life of post-war Hong Kong. His hopeful, if chronically loss-making adventures pushed the cultural frontiers of his adopted home.What began as a campaign to save the iconic State Theatre morphed into five years of research to find those who witnessed Odell in action. The result: a film that is a study of one indomitable pioneer, and a soul-searching journey of what defines Hong Kong.《尚未完场》述说的是一个香港演艺场地发展的故事。一代娱乐大亨欧德礼是璇宫戏院 (后改为皇都戏院) 的创办人。他的演艺事业亏损惨重，却为香港文化开辟了新天地，被称为「香港文化史前人物」。在那个白天上映黄飞鸿和林黛电影的大戏院，晚上有名家如Isaac Stern、Fournier坐镇，华洋共处，雅俗共赏，只此一家。标志香港新时代的大会堂开幕，第一场演奏会正是由欧德礼承办。一九九七年皇都戏院结业，欧德礼的辉煌过去仿似正式落幕。然而，透过徐岱灵、祁凯达执导的纪录片，我们得以唤回那个时代的记忆。
