Synopsis
TAKLUK : LAHAD DATU – Diinspirasikan Daripada Kisah Benar is a film inspired by the 2013 Lahad Datu intrusion incident. The story follows the Gagasan Militan Nusantara (GMN) group, led by Raja Iskandar, as they invade the village of Batu Jugar. The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) forms a crisis management team and attempts to negotiate a peaceful resolution to prevent bloodshed, led by Datuk Mizan. Tensions escalate when PDRM clashes with GMN militants while evacuating civilians, causing the negotiations to break down. PDRM then establishes a blockade, leading to intense fighting that results in the deaths of two VAT 69 members and injuries to others. The following day, an assault on Kampung Air results in further casualties among PDRM members. Operation Takluk is launched, successfully rescuing captives and defeating the remaining GMN militants, though high-ranking members of GMN escape, prompting continued efforts to eliminate the threat.
