Synopsis
You could call it the grand adventure to the East. The cross-country story is filmed in various locations in Portugal, China, Japan, India, Malaysia and Vietnam. Peregrinação (“Pilgrimage”) is inspired in part by the book of the same name. Written by Fernão Mendes Pinto and first printed in 1614 it speaks of his departure to the East in search of a better fortune. What follows is an adventurous and unforgettable 20-year journey, so amazing that no one would believe it. Cláudio da Silva plays both the writer Fernão Mendes Pinto and the anti-hero António Faria.
