Synopsis

Peter, Christine's brother, is born deaf and blind, relying on his family to see and hear the world for him for the past 30 years of his life. His need for help and assistance is so specific that the family struggles to find a residence for him. What will happen to him, once his parents are no longer here to take care of him? Who shall ensure he leads a dignified life? HE'S MY BROTHER is a poetic film about the ties of blood and an incredible family dynamic. The story is told through Christine, the younger sister, who explores the role as sibling and guardian, and what it actually means to have the responsibility of another life on her shoulders. She travels through a myriad of emotions, where she has to accept her destiny - that she will be taking care of her brother when her parents no longer can. This screening will open with an autobiographical documentary that explores the director's relationship with her autistic brother, as they grow up together yet separately.
