Synopsis
It seems to the Teens that all the major superheroes out there are starring in their own movies—everyone but the Teen Titans, that is! But de facto leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation, and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, the Teen Titans head to Tinsel Town, certain to pull off their dream. But when the group is radically misdirected by a seriously Super-Villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line!

Although it’s not going to be a film that will become a memorable classic soon, you are assured to get some laughs for anyone who wants to feel a little younger, young at heart or have a family to entertain.

Teen Titans? What’s that you say? Teen Titans GO! is the animated DC television franchise from Cartoon Network since 2013 that’s been given it’s own movie, not unlike what the lead teen hero Robin of, sidekick of Batman fame, is dreaming of.
In this big screen episode, the usual DC superhero lineup get their own movies, and the Teens led by Robin, muses that the only way for them to be taken seriously as real superheroes is to have their own movie. And in order for that to happen, they need to get other superheroes out of their way and confront their own super-villain. Hilarity ensues.
Now before you write this off as another film for pre-puberty kids and their parents who are obligated to pay for tickets, this is one feature that stays smartly away from becoming another animated wannabe to Disney's and Dreamworks'. Although the animated bobbleheads will certainly appeal mainly to the young demographics for its cutesy outlook, it’s the dialogue that gets the adults restraining from laughing too much in front of the kids. (Do check out the end credits scene when Robin makes an appeal to the kids by breaking the fourth wall).
Teen Titans GO! to the Movies exploits the silliness, self-aggrandising and over-the-top drama that accompany the usual superhero troupe. It’s crass at times, lending it a humour that only adults appreciate without parents squirming in their seats. At the same time, it reiterates some basic tenets of friendship, fame and sacrifice that parents can use to teach their kids on personal values.
Teen Titans GO! to the Movies feels like a larger-than-life version of a TV series episode, but giving itself the cinematic and “Marvelesque” treatment when it comes to humour. The film literally references the rival studio unbashedly alongside its own world of characters. Although it’s not going to be a film that will become a memorable classic soon, you are assured to get some laughs for anyone who wants to feel a little younger, young at heart or have a family to entertain.
