Synopsis

When he was only eight years, during the Vietnam-American war, Kit and his family escaped Saigon as "boat refugees". 30 years later, the British Vietnamese young man returns to his birth country for the first time. However, unable to speak his native language, he embarks on a solo journey from Saigon to Hanoi, looking for somewhere to scatter his parents` ashes. It is during this time that he not only connects to his own roots and the memories of his parents, but also meets his estranged family and falls in love with an American man, Lewis, whose father fought in the war.
