It’s about time we were reminded of the importance of nature and the outdoors again, to simply be still and just take it all in.

From the same studio(s) who are about to release a highly anticipated sequel featuring the rise of electronics, comes a powerful message for us all to touch grass. Featuring the voices of Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Kathy Najimy, and Dave Franco.

Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers follows nature lover Mabel (Curda), who finds herself “inhabiting" a lifelike robotic beaver that allows her to communicate with other animals. She uses this to her benefit in attempts to thwart Mayor Jerry (Hamm)’s plans and save the animals' habitat from being turned into a freeway. What was initially an honourable mission in protecting nature soon becomes an unintentional uprising on the animals’ part, making for a most rambunctious man-versus-wild adventure we’ve ever seen animated for the big screens to date.

Coming from the creator behind animation’s most beloved trio of bear brothers, director Daniel Chong film brings about an air of silliness and exploration of illogical depths that’s rarely before (if never!) seen in a Disney and Pixar vehicle. Chockful of laugh-out-loud moments that’ll tickle both children and adult’s fancies – from it’s quippy liners to character quirks and physical buffoonery – it’s really no wonder why people are calling this their funniest movie yet.

Fair warning to not expect all laughs though, lest you forget Pixar knows how to tug on one’s heartstrings like an expert marionettist. It’s all fun and games until they remind you of the real reason we’re here. As Pixar films go, you best bet there’s an important message underneath all the fur (and feather, scales, etc) and cute beady Funko Pop-esque eyes. Our biggest takeaway is the encouragement to fight for what’s right and not be afraid to fight for anything. Mabel is a strong character that’s well cultured and nurtured, with a strong sense of identity worthy of role model status for an audience of all ages. But the true MVP in our eyes is Mammal King beaver George (Moynihan), the sweetest most tender hearted creation that needs to be protected at all costs.

The masters of heartfelt animation have done it again. Look no further than Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers for a wholesome treat of teachable lessons, pure joy, and an overload of cuteness!
