| Synopsis |
DEAR YOU beautifully weaves between two timelines: a grandson who embarks on a present-day search of his long-lost grandfather in Thailand, and a newlywed man who leaves his hometown in China during wartime in the 1940s, travelling to Southeast Asia in search of jobs to support his family. The movie explores buried family secrets and the enduring bonds of love and devotion that were preserved through qiaopi 侨批, historical letters and remittances sent home by overseas Chinese migrants to their families, across half a century. |
