"Bombshell" drops 1st full-length trailer

Finally, there’s a new trailer for ‘Bombshell’, featuring Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie in one of the most anticipated dramas, detailing the takedown of Fox News mogul Roger Ailes.

Directed by Jay Roach, Theron stars as Megyn Kelly, Kidman as Gretchen Carlson who stood by each other to take down Ailes, played by John Lithgow. Robbie starts as a fictional producer, Kayla Pospisil, reportedly built from a number of real-life women in the newsroom.

The film had its first screening and is apparently gaining a lot of Oscar buzz among film critics for the performances of the three leading ladies. Theron not only looked the part, she even altered her voice and accent to sound like Kelly, who handled Donald Trump’s offensive joke about Kelly’s menstrual cycle on national TV.

Pospisil, on the other hand, attempts to climb the ladder as a producer into an on-air personality anchor, but first had to ‘prove her loyalty’ to the company, as Ailes puts it.

Theron, Kidman, and Robbie also appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where they talked about their involvement in the projects and their thoughts on playing these women.

“We used a lot of source material in finding this story and also spoke to a lot of women who were a part of this story. Some of them are still working at Fox, some of them didn’t really want their names out there. As a team, we decided to protect our sources,” Theron told DeGeneres.

Bombshell is slated to open InCinemas 19 December 2019!
