At the recent Disney/Pixar film presentation, guests and the regional media were treated to a private presentation of upcoming Disney/Pixar animations by Jim Morris, President of Pixar Animation Studios.

Films include the November release of The Good Dinosaur, Finding Dory, Toy Story 4 and Sanjay’s Super Team, a seven-minute short that will be screened before The Good Dinosaur.

Sanjay’s Super Team is the first Asian-themed film that is produced by the studios. Written and directed by one of the head animator, Sanjay Patel, the story is inspired by his childhood memories on super heroes and his daily Hindu ritual of meditation and prayer with his father.

“If you enjoyed Inside Out, you will love The Good Dinosaur,” said Mr Morris before he started his presentation.

True enough, we fell in love with the Apatosaurus named Arlo ( Raymond Ochoa) and his unlikely human companion Spot (Jack Bright). While we didn't get to watch the entire film, we caught short 3-5 minute previews, and in our opinion, some of the best scenes. Morris also showed a few animated facial features of the characters and sketches of the beautiful landscapes seen in the film.

The Good Dinosaur opens InCinemas 26 November 2015.

Finding Dory

Finding Dory takes place years after the hit animation Finding Nemo. The main casts Ellen DeGeneres (Dory) and Albert Brooks (Marlin) returns, with the introduction of new characters such as Diane Keaton as Dory's mom Jenny, Eugene Levy as Dory's dad and Ed O’Neill as Hank the Septopus (an octopus that had lost a tentacle)

Story picks up where short-term memory Dory remembers her parents. The only clue to their whereabouts is a random phrase Dory mumbles in her sleep: “The jewel of Monterey, California.” She embarks on the journey to California with some of her underwater friends.

Finding Dory is slated to open InCinemas 16 June 2016.

Toy Story 4

Fans of the trilogy rejoice, though it wouldn’t be called a trilogy anymore. Toy Story 4 is happening! Morris explained that Pixar didn’t have any intention on making another Toy Story movie, but because a new story was brought forward that the animators felt it was too good to be missed.

“The animators made a pact that they will not continue another Toy Story unless one came out with a brilliant story.”

The film marks the return of director John Lasseter, who helmed the first two 'Toy Story' films. Morris said that the franchise is headed in a new direction and will not be a continuation of the massively successful third instalment, which grossed over US$1 billion worldwide and was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. It will revolve around the love story between Woody (Tom Hanks) and Bo Peep (Annie Potts).
