“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” is completed a whopping six months ahead of its release.

Director Michael Dougherty took to Twitter to celebrate and share the good news with a sweet caption “It is done. With love and gratitude to the thousands of talented people all around the world who helped make this lifelong dream a reality. In Godzilla we trust.”
The new Godzilla movie is the third film in Warner Bros. Pictures MonsterVerse series, following 2014’s Godzilla and 2017's Kong: Skull Island. The film's sequel, Godzilla vs. Kong, began filming this week in Hawaii and Australia.

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

The film stars Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring), Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai), Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine) and Kyle Chandler (The Wolf of Wall Street), Zhang Ziyi and Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) in her film debut.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is slated to open InCinemas May 2019.
