Last “Ip Man” movie, Ip Man 4: The Finale to screen this December

By Flora  /  25 Sep 2019 (Wednesday)

Donnie Yen will be playing the grandmaster Ip Man for the last time in "Ip Man 4: The Finale".

This fourth and final instalment will be concluding the decade-long Ip Man franchise – the longest-running Chinese film series of 10 years from 2009 to 2019. Showcasing a star-studded cast of Donnie Yen甄子丹, Chan Kwok Kwan 陈国坤, Scott Adkins and Vanness Wu 吴建豪, witness the finale on the big screen this December.

The hugely popular martial arts franchise saw some of the greatest martial arts scenes on the big screen in years, such as his epic battle with Mike Tyson in Ip Man 3, and his unforgettable “I want to fight 10 people” in the very first instalment of the film series.

In the finale, Ip Man’s life remains unchanged after his wife’s death, but he and his son are slowly drifting apart. To seek a better future for his son, Ip Man decides to travel to the U.S. only to find a stable, peaceful life abroad is only skin deep. Underneath lies a deep-rooted racial discrimination that is far worse than he has expected. Ip Man re-examines his position and ponders on the reason he took up martial arts in the beginning.

Don’t miss Donnie Yen’s swan song as grandmaster Ip Man, teacher master to Bruce Lee, which opens InCinemas December 20!
