James Cameron's 'Avatar' is the highest grossing film of all-time again!

12 years after its official release (and 3 since its title was surpassed by Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame), James Cameron's Avatar is once again the highest grossing film of all time!
This feat is all thanks to a China reissue which began on 12 March 2021 and which through its first two days has added an estimated $12.3M to the total haul for the Na’vi. A feat that definitely didn't go unnoticed as evideny in this official congratulatory tweet from the studios behind the movie that just got knocked off the top spot:
Avatar’s current worldwide gross at an estimated $2.81B, with Endgame trailing behind with $2.797B.
Avatar 2 is currently slated to open in cinemas on December 15, 2022.
