By Rachelle  /  25 Mar 2021 (Thursday)

Ron Livingston has been tapped to play Henry Allen, father of the Flash aka Barry Allen, in Warner Bros. and DC Films' upcoming The Flash

Livingston is best known for the 1999 comedy Office Space and was most recently seen in ABC’s A Million Little Pieces.

Henry Allen was originally played by Billy Crudup in Justice League and he was last seen in Zack Snyder's Justice League but he had reportedly left the role before ZSJL premiered. Crudup's departure was due to scheduling conflicts.

Livingston joins Ezra Miller as he returns as the title character with Kiersey Clemons set to play Iris West. Sasha Calle is also on board to play Supergirl in the film with Maribel Verdu playing Barry’s mom.

Andy Muscheitti is directing from a screenplay written by Christina Hodson. Storyline details are being kept unwraps, but it is known that it will involve alternate dimensions and time travel with the hero trying to save his mother from being murdered.

The Flash is scheduled to begin filming in early 2021 for a theatrical release in November 2022.
