[InCinemas Clips of Hebe Tien and Show Luo's Sundown Performance Included!]
The long awaited Sundown Festival is back for its third year running. This year, organiser Red Spade Entertainment brought in acts from Taiwan, Japan and Korea! Top superstars Show Luo, Hebe Tien (from S.H.E) crowd favourite Zhang Yun Jing, boy band Teen Top and Jrock band ViViD rocked the show at the Promenade, F1 pit area.
Fans braved the rain and queued for hours before the show finally started at about 8.15pm. When InCinemas spoke to some Show Luo fans, they revealed that they had been queuing since Thursday (24 Nov) to get a good spot in front. Though many expected the weather, some were rather furious at the lack of management.

DJ duo Lee Teng and Lim Pei Fen entertained the crowd with their witty jokes and gave out merchandises to the audience before “Visual-kei” Jrock band ViViD opened the festival with their powerful vocals and loud drumming beats. Jrock fans were seen jumping and head-banging to their music, showing their idols the ‘Rock-on’ hand sign. ViViD no doubt set the mood of the evening with their spectacular performance.
[Fun Facts: It takes 90 minutes to style one ViViD band member's hair.
Each ViViD member can down 25 Sake shots in one session.]
After performing a few songs, Taiwanese singer Zhang Yun Jing took the stage with her deep yet soulful voice. Her ballads showed her strong vocals and proved to be the winner of the first season of Taiwanese signing competition, Super Idol. Also known as Ah Jing, she prepared a special item for her Singapore fans as she did an impressive guitar acoustic version of “Xiang fan de wo”. Fans sang along with her as she performed her last song “Chun Ni”. In my opinion, Zhang Yun Jing gave a very sincere and truthful performance for the audience, smiling all the way till she exited the stage.
[Fun Facts: SG$1 million is the most expensive insurance ever bought for a performing artiste. It takes 9 months to plan a Sundown Festival.]
[Fun Facts: Zhang Yun Jing has not had long hair for more than 20 years.
Teen Top's average age is only 17 years old]
Anticipated Kpop band Teen Top were next as the 6 boys (Average age is 17 years old) Loud cheers from the fans were heard as soon as the boys were seen on stage. As they performed their hit number “Supa Luv”, fan chants and screams were heard. Their slick moves and synchronized choreography were such a crowd pleaser as female fans screamed throughout the song. They even came towards the frontstage to give fans a good view of them, waving and posing for cameras now and then. After a pretty much predictable encore, they came back to perform their debut track Clap.

Who could resist someone so pure and cute like Hebe Tien? Dressed in milky white long dress, she graced the stage like an angel. Her stage charisma and passionate vocals gave the audience a different atmosphere compared to the act before. Fans quickly adapted to the mood and swayed their lightsticks to the songs. She even gave fans to what sounded like a short singlish phrase of “Sing-ga-pore”. Check out our InCinemas clip of the lovely angel Hebe Tien!

The long awaited performance of the day finally came as Show Luo proved himself to be THEE one to look out for. No doubt his stage performance was the best and his charismatic looks captivated many. His showmanship and fancy dance moves were hard not to love. Fans decked in colourful LED boards and sang along to his crowd favourite songs. I must say, Show Luo really does know how to work the audience and delight his fans. In Mandarin, he said he loves the pepper crab here in Singapore and points to parts of his body as to where it went. Fans urged him to strip but he laughed it off and teased them throughout his songs. No, there wasn’t a flesh show by Show, (pun intended) unfortunately.
[Fun Facts: The total entourage for the 5 groups of artistes is 44 people. (ViViD - 10; Teen Top - 14; Zhang Yun Jing - 4; Hebe - 6; Show Luo - 10) ]

Show even expressed his interest to star in our local movies in future after watching one not long ago.. And just when everyone thought that the movie he has been moved is
ALREADY FAMOUS
, which stars his good buddy Alien Huang, Show surprised the crowd in his reply. "It was Money Not Enough 2.. My tears went uncontrollable when the mother was hospitalized.."

Fans who cheered for ALREADY FAMOUS earlier were taken aback, but at the same time amused by his answer.. Show's quirkiness and comedic side makes him more lovable as a performer.. At least it works for many of his fans!
At about 10:40pm, the Sundown Festival 2011 ended with a final appearance of all the performing artistes while the fans cheered loudly for their favourite idols. Although most of the crowd has been braving through rain and shine for long hours, their cheers sound as if they could go on for more! Look out for the one next year in 2012!
Last but not least, a big Thank You to Red Spade, SPRG and all the staff for organizing this successful Sundown Festival event! You can find more updates of the Sundown Festival at their
