Cathay Cineplexes has ceased operations with immediate effect

Cathay Cineplexes has officially ceased operations as of 1 September 2025.
Cathay's parent company, mm2 Asia, announced the cinema operator will enter voluntary liquidation after attempts to negotiate amicable resolutions with various creditors failed. The cinema's board of directors decided that it was not viable for it to continue operating after considering the financial position it is in.
After shuttering its West Mall and Jem outlets earlier this year, Cathay Cineplexes were down to only four remaining outlets – Causeway Point, Century Square, Clementi 321 and Downtown East.
