Oscar-winning Emma Thompson is said to join Oscar winner Emma Stone in the live-action ‘Disney’s Cruella’ based on the classic ‘101 Dalmatians’ villain Cruella de Vil. It is said to be an origin story, exploring the villain who was obsessed with capturing puppies.
Cruella was previously played by Glenn Close in a 1996 live-action movie and its 2000 sequel.
We don’t know who or what Thompson might be playing, but what we know is that Stone is signed to play the title character, De Vil, which will be set in the 80s.
‘I, Tonya’ Craig Gillespie is directing the flick with Marc Platt, Kristin Burr and Andrew Gunn producing.
Disney’s Cruella is said to be released in December 2020.
