Golden Village is partnering with animal welfare group SOSD to present the "GOHAN Charity Screening and Adoption Drive" at GV VivoCity on 9 May!

The "GOHAN Charity Screening and Adoption Drive" seeks to promote responsible pet ownership and raise funds to support ongoing animal welfare initiatives. This special event aims to raise awareness and encourage pet adoption at the same time, to support rescue efforts in Singapore.

From the producers of Thai box office hit How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, GOHAN tells the heartfelt story of the enduring bond between humans and a white stray Bangkaew dog over a decade. The film traces the dog’s journey through three stages of life, each directed by acclaimed Thai filmmakers: Chayanop Boonprakob (The Red Envelope), Baz Poonpiriya (Bad Genius) and Atta Hemwadee. Across changing circumstances and homes, the story highlights the unwavering loyalty and love shared between GOHAN and its temporary owners.
 
Baz Poonpiriya, producer and co-director of GOHAN, said:
I’ve always believed that a dog isn’t just a pet – it’s a reflection of who we are as humans. Working on GOHAN was deeply personal for me not just as a filmmaker, but as someone who has been involved in animal rescue and has cared for five dogs over the past several years. This story about the special bond between humans and animals, one that can sometimes be more loyal and loving than we are to ourselves. I also hope the movie encourages more people to open their hearts to pet adoption.
