This is a continuation of a journey that started 12 months ago with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, which was attended by more than 7,000 audience members, the highest number for any single orchestra-based concert production in Singapore in 2013.
American conductor Justin Freer returns to Singapore with vocalist Rosalind Waters to partner with the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, the Vocal Associates Festival Chorus and Children’s Choir and boy soprano Samuel Yuen to present this landmark concert production.
Audiences will be able to relive the awesome experience of immersing themselves in the full-length Academy Award-winning motion picture projected on a giant cinematic screen complete with original dialogue and sound effects, while Howard Shore’s iconic soundtrack score is performed live by the 250 musicians of a full orchestra and chorus.
The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers is the second installment of Peter Jackson’s fantasy adventure film trilogy based on the novels of J.R.R. Tolkien. A long-lost Ring has been found and, through twists of fate, is in the possession of a small hobbit named Frodo Baggins.
Considered one of the most ambitious projects in film history, it took eight years to bring The Lord of the Rings to the screen. The result was an artistic and popular success of the highest order. The films won a total of 17 Academy Awards®, and are among the top-grossing films of all-time.
