The Challenge of Making Miso

Take up the challenge to create your very own local Miso! Learn and appreciate the importance of food science and fermentation while acquiring techniques to make your own Miso. Leave a Nest brings the original Miso kit made by long-established Miso making company, Miyasaka Brewery Co., Ltd to this exclusive one-off workshop!

Sushi Express
Come and learn more about rice and put your culinary skills to use in making sushi! Find out why different rice types are used for cooking certain delicacies. Learn about the different properties of rice and understand why Japanese rice and not American long grain rice is best for making sushi!

Boney Halloween
Learn all about the human skeletal system in this fun and enriching lab-based programme. View bone cells at the microscopic level and through a simple experiment as well as understand the importance of calcium in our diet. And of course a boney Halloween is never complete without a scary Mr Bones! Bring home a 1m tall skeleton to scare your peers!
