Director Roland Emmerich took to Twitter to announce the two new cast who will be joining the sci-fi sequel ‘Independence Day 2’!

Singaporean actor Ng Chin Han, better known as Chin Han, who previously worked with Emmerich on disaster flick 2012 will be playing the leader of the Chinese Space Squadron in the upcoming film. Han, appeared in Netflix’s Marco Polo and had a part in The Dark Knight.

In the tweet, Emmerich posted "Super excited to officially welcome Chin Han to the cast of #IndependenceDay2 @TheChinHan" along with a photo of the duo on set, and recently announced the new addition of Angelababy, stating “Just signed on of China’s brightest young stars to the cast of #IndependenceDay2! Welcome Angelababy!”

Angelababy can be seen in upcoming action-thriller ‘Hitman: Agent 47’, where she, and the lead cast were in Singapore last year to film the movie.

They will be joining Maika Monroe, Liam Hemsworth, Brent Spiner, Jessie Usher and Charlotte Gainsbourg alongside returning actors Judd Hirsh, Vivica A. Fox, Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum.

The film is set to release in June 2016.
