Singapore, 24 August 2012 - THE EXPENDABLES 2, the number one film in Singapore Box Office this week, has raked in a cumulative gross of over $1.88M, surpassing its predecessor in just over eight days of release.



The first film, The Expendables, opened with a strong weekend previously, taking over $800,000 at the Singapore box office; and ended up with a final box office of $1.85M in the same August period in 2010.

The Expendables 2 surpassed that mark to earn over $1.2 million by Sunday, and has made over $1.5 million by the end of the long Hari Raya weekend. The industry observers estimate that the film will finish over $2.5 million in the Singapore box office.

Directed by Simon West, THE EXPENDABLES 2 boasts a star-studden cast, featuring Sylvester Stallon, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarnegger, with newest cast members Liam Hemworth, Scott Adkins, martial arts legends Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme, as well as Chinese actress Yu Nan and the first female in the Expendable team.
