]. Both companies are looking to invest US$5 million into this movie about Singapore's political history.
Since the news of the movie 1965, many have been curious as to who will actually play the role of Lee Kuan Yew, one of the most important political characters in building Singapore. During the press conference, Daniel Yun, the CEO of Homerun Asia, had hinted that the actor will have to be somebody who is 'fiery' and there is only a few in Asia to be considered.

, it is noted that the main cast of the movie 1965 will include heavyweights stars like Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung and Hollywood actress Julianne Moore. Some of the netizens has gone fervour about the possibility of Tony Leung starring as Lee Kuan Yew and here's a poster that has been circulating the internet.
So what do you think? The movie, 1965, is entering its production phase in the last quarter of the year and is slated to release next year before 9th August, before Singapore's 47th National Day.

[Premise]
1965 is a social-political thriller with a multi-threaded plot structure, set in the year 1965, when amidst racial and ideological differences, suddenly immigrants from across Asia saw the possibility of calling an island their home. It was a year that made history. In this year, we see five stories with characters from diverse backgrounds, all fidning hope against seemingly insurmountable odds. The film is written and directed by Lee Thean-jeen of HOMECOMING and TV series THE PUPIL. Peter Chan is slated to be the supervisory director.
